Management of renewable energy

Renewable energy developments on land or in the territorial sea are managed under the RMA and renewable energy developments in the exclusive economic zone are managed under the EEZ Act.

The RMA and EEZ Act are described in detail elsewhere on this website.  The following sections describe the specific provisions of the RMA and EEZ Act which relate to renewable energy developments.
