One-stop-shop

The Act is a ‘one-stop-shop’ because it enables an applicant to apply for consent for various approvals required for their project at the same time (as opposed to separately seeking those consents).

Approvals required under the following laws (called “specified Acts”) can be contemporaneously sought under the Act: 898cbe2d-2de0-4614-a7d5-8ec7cf12d59c

•    Conservation Act 1987 (including Freshwater Fisheries Regulations 1983)
•    Crown Minerals Act 1991
•    Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) Act 2012
•    Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act 2014
•    National Parks Act 1980
•    Reserves Act 1977
•    Resource Management Act 1991
•    Wildlife Act 1953

Approvals required under laws not listed above must be separately sought outside of the Fast-track regime, for example approvals required under the Building Act 2004, Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 and the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978.
