Local Government Act 2002

The Local Government Act provides the general framework, obligations, restrictions and powers under which local authorities operate. The Act empowers local authorities to make bylaws, including for the purpose of protecting, promoting, and maintaining public health and safety. ³⁸⁷⁷  It also sets out their specific powers to remove works in breach of bylaws. ³⁸⁷⁸
