Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987
This Act provides for the availability to the public of official information held by local authorities, including Land Information Memorandums (LIM). A LIM Includes any information held by councils identifying any special characteristic of a specific parcel of land, which includes natural hazard risks such as potential erosion, falling debris, subsidence, slippage, and inundation. While hazard information included in the district plan is not required to be included in the LIM , it is good practice to do so.
