Pyroclastic flows
Pyroclastic flows can be extremely hazardous. They consist of a lethal mix of very high temperature volcanic gases and ash that erupt from vents and then collapse moving at great speeds across the ground. 3831 Pyroclastic flows often flow with gravity, and like lahars are known to flow down nearby river valleys. Buildings in their path are often destroyed and fires can start in any combustible materials it encounters.
