Monitoring of resource consents
Local authorities have an obligation to monitor the exercise of resource consents which have an effect on their region or district and to take appropriate action where necessary. 988
The conditions of a resource consent may also require the consent holder to monitor the impacts of the activity. This can include taking samples and measurements, carrying out analyses, surveys, investigations or inspections and providing information to the consent authority at specified times. 989 The results of such monitoring should be publicly available and can be obtained from the consent authority.
